Biographies

After receiving his certificate of freedom James Wright wed Hannah Browning in 1848. Hannah came to Australia as an assisted migrant.
They had a large family and both worked as shepherds in the New England area of NSW
James died near Eugowra in 1875 when a tree fell on him whilst harvesting honey. A newspaper incorrectly named him as Frederick which was possibly the name of the son who reported the accident. His marriage certicate and children's birth certificates always refer to him as James.
