"OBITUARY. Mr. W. H. Pettitt, a resident of the district for over 20 years, died suddenly at his residence, Schofield's Siding, last Saturday, about midday. It appears deceased was just preparing to have a bath, after which he intended proceeding to Riverstone, when he suddenly expired. Deceased was a carpenter by trade and during his residence in the district had built and assisted to build a number of dwellings, and was at one time employed at his trade at the local meat works. He was twice married, his first wife having predeceased him 16 years. Some time after he married Miss Mary Green, of Marsden Park, who survives him. He leaves ten children, some of whom have grown into manhood and womanhood. There are four small children, the youngest being 5 years of age, and for the widow and little ones great sympathy is felt. The funeral took place on Monday, when the remains were interred in the Church of England cemetery, Windsor. Rev. W. H. W. Stephenson, of Rouse Hill, conducted the burial service, Mr. J. W. Chandler was the undertaker. Deceased was 52 years of age, and very much respected."Source(s):
